UKC Mountain Feist Breed Standard Update
The UKC has adopted a new breed standard for the Mountain Feist, which requires ears to be upright. The standard went into effect on January 1, 2020. Here is the language from the UKC website:
Ears are v-shaped, set at the outside edges of the skull. Ears must be erect. Note: Ear carriage may not stabilize until a dog is mature; therefore, dogs under one year of age should not be penalized for variations in ear carriage.
Disqualification: Cropped ears. Ears not erect.
MFA- Feist Days 2019
UKC HTX Friday October 25, 2019
We will be kicking off the weekend early on Friday October 25th at 1:00pm with a great opportunity to get time in the woods with your dog, and get a chance to pass a UKC hunt test on squirrel. These are known as HTX events. When your dog passes 3 one hour tests, the UKC papers will be adjusted to show HTX after the name of the dog, indicating that the dog has passed three HTX tests. If your dog passes three more tests, papers will be changed to HTX 2 and so on. It is a great way to tune up both you and the dog for the Saturday competition hunt!
